Chapter 5. ♥

Dear Diary,

Well, Jenny and I are studying Maths right now, and my mum is picking Millie and I up in an hour's time.

You canNOT believe what just happened.

Damien was just doing his homework in his room (which is the guest room) while Jenny, Millie and I were in Jenny's room. I figure out Jenny was getting quite tired since I kept going on "How do you do this?" and "I don't understand a single thing about this," and she kinda gave up and screamed, "DAAAAMIEN! Could you come over for a sec?" I was practically frozen at my place and my heart did this fast thumping and I somehow start panicking.

"Yes?" said Damien with his pen still in his hand.

"Could you help Julie with Chemistry? You got a way higher grade than I did," said Jenny as she made space for Damien to sit in between us.

"Oh yeah, sure, let me get my books," said Damien as he made his way back to his room.

Oh. Gosh.

At last, he came and sat in between us, which was extremely close to me, I could feel my palms getting sweaty. He started off explaining and I figured out I should really make use of this lesson.

After awhile of explaining to me, I started doing some exercises. He went to sit on Jenny's bed and Millie went towards him and stared at him for quite awhile. He went, "Hello, what's your name?" with such a sweet smile I could die for.

Millie started playing with him and she was enjoying herself and he looked quite happy too. Gosh, he's so good with little kids.

At last, I finished my exercises and he checked my answer and said, "Woah, you're a fast learner. If you keep going on like this, you'l be sure to be as good as Jenny."

Jenny gave him a stare and said, "Oh, fine," and continued with her other homework.

"Thanks a lot for your help," I said with a smile.

"Yeah, sure, you're welcome. Feel free to come and ask me for lessons, I'll be glad to help you," he said, with a sweet smile. He made his way back to his room.

Jenny practically knew I like him already, since she said, "Come on, Juliet, Romeo has gone back to his kingdom, you better make use of what he taught you."

I sat down next to her and started working on my Maths homework. Until I realized Millie was missing, I practically screamed and started looking for her frantically.

We looked around all over Jenny's room (she has a really BIG room, seriously) without a trace of where's she's gone. We decided to look outside but we still couldn't find her until we heard her giggles.

"I think she's in Damien's room," she said as she knocked the door.

Damien opened the door with Millie in his arms laughing away. "Hey, Millie followed me to my room," he said.

"Oh, thank goodness! I was looking all over for her!" I said as I carried her.

"You sure love your baby sister," said Damien with a smile and closed his door.

And now we're studying maths and Millie is playing with Jenny's soft toys on her bed.

Oh, I hear mum honking!

Yours truly, Julie. ♥

Chapter 4. ♥

Dear Diary,

No, no, no, no, NO! This cannot be happening. I've never fallen for a guy before. NEVER! Oh gosh.

A little back then, I was walking to the cafeteria with Jenny and I said, "Hey, can I come over after school? Lets do our Maths homework together."

Jenny said, "What for? You're just going to copy off all my answers, right?" with a smirk on her face. Jenny is this, crazy, crazy, maths-programmed brain sort of person. She could answer any maths questions easily. She's also super smart in every single subject. Like, seriously.

"Come on, can't you even tutor your friend in need? I need help for Chemistry too." I said with a sort of please? way.

"Oh fine, I'll have my mum to pick the 3 of us up." said Jenny as we walked toward the line to get her food.

"3 of us?" I asked curiously.

"Yeah, and my cousin Damien too." she said as she took her food. "Aren't you eating anything?"

I stared down to my surprisingly empty tray. "Oh, right." I said and took my food too.

We walked to our usual spot by the windows (we like sunny spots) and sat down. I was staring at Damien again, he was sitting with some guys a few tables away. Suddenly, a group of girls surrounded their table.

"Hey, who do we have here? Someone new?" said Loretta Cheerland. What kind of name is Cheerland anyways? She was flirting outrageously with Damien and I could feel my face burning up in anger and jealousy. Damien looked like he didn't even notice anything. Which maybe he did not.

Wait, its not like he's even my boyfriend. Which is so not. Yet. Oh gosh.

"Come on, Jens, we gotta go for our next class." I said glumly.

The rest of the day was just a blur to me, I was thinking about Loretta and Damien. She seriously gets on my nerves.

"Are you listening to me?!" said Jen as she nudged me.

"Huh? What?" I said, in the normal, blur way.

"My mum can't pick us up, she has a meeting to attend, we'll have to walk back." she said as Damien walked over.

"Hey." said Damien. I swear he looked extra cute.

"H-hey." I stuttered. I was snapped out of my trance when my cell phone rang and vibrated violently in my pocket.

"Hello?" I answered the phone.

"Julie? This is Mum here, could you pick up Millie from the daycare centre on your way back? I've got an order I have to finish up as quick as possible," said my mum in her busy tone.

My mum is wonderful cook. Which made her way to becoming a wanted caterer for every event. But she does orders for her friend only, though.

"Okay, but I'll have to bring her to Jenny's house, I'm going over to study," I said.

"Alright, be home for dinner. Love you," she said and the line went off.

"Come on, we gotta pick Millie up from the daycare." I said while walking ahead.

We walked together while Jenny started chatting bout some stuff happening in school while I could help but take a quick glance at Damien. He was staring right at me. I turned away quickly, my face was burning in embarrassment!

At last, we arrived at the daycare centre, and I went in to pick Millie up. Millie's my sister. She only 3 years old and I swear she's the cutest thing I've ever seen. Apart from Millie, I've got 3 more brothers, James, Eric and Brandon.

James is 18, Eric and Brandon are twins, they're only 10. Millie is from our step father now, Bryan. Well... Our father left us. He comes back sometimes, though. It was last year, during the twins' birthday when he last came back. He comes for all our birthdays. He adores Millie too. He didn't leave us for some women, like they do in movies, he just... wanted to chase after his dreams. He's a world class cook, just what my mum dreams to be.

At last, we arrived to the daycare centre and picked Millie up and made our way to Jenny's house, which are there now.

Yours truly, Julie. ♥

Chapter 3. ♥

Dear Diary,

..And I think that'll stick.

Miss Laura wasn't too happy about Jenny using paint for the artwork since she asked us to use crayons only.

"You're ruining the texture of the paper! It is now weak, even if you use paint, this is too wet! Do it all over. NOW!" bellowed Miss Laura.

Jenny looked pretty pissed as she threw away the failed artwork and went to get another canvas to start on with. She came next to me and muttered, "I've fallen behind everyone already so what's the point?"

"The point is, you're not going to pass if you don't do it properly." said Miss Laura as she passed by Jenny without looking at her.

Jenny rolled her eyes and concentrated to do her work properly. The thing about Jenny is, once she can put her mind to something she wants to do, and want to succeed, watch her shine. She'll come up with something brilliant. I watched her as she set her steely gaze on her artwork and worked furiously to not be left behind.

I continued doing my artwork and add the finishing touches. Miss Laura came by and said, "Please put your finished artwork by my table." I went off to put it there. What happened next I could not believe.

"Hey. You're Jens' friend right?" said a voice and I turned to look.

I was staring into dreamy dark brown eyes that seems to make me stare at them wondering. I quickly set my eyes to Jens and said, "Yeah, you-you're her c-c-cousin r-right?" I could so slap myself for stuttering so stupidly.

"Yeah, nice to meet you. I'm Damien. I hope we could hang out someday." he said and smiled a smile i could die for.

"I'm Julie, nice to meet you too, yeah, we should hang out." I said it! In a perfect sentence too!

Damien said, "I'm currently staying with Jens' family, so I guess I'll see you often." and walked off to his table.

I was left shell-shocked for awhile and I paced ever so quickly towards our table to where Jenny was sitting.

"There! I'm done!" said Jenny as she was smiling to herself, looking quite pleased.

"You. Didn't. Tell. Me. You. Are. Staying. With. HIM!" I said quite softly only enough for her to hear.

"What? Oh, yeah, what's up with you? Its the first time I've ever seen you so gaga over a guy." said Jenny as she went off to put her canvas by the teacher's table.

Oh no. I think. I. Like. Him.

Yours Truly, Julie.

Chapter 2. ♥

Dear Diary,

I should really stop writing that.

I was walking down the hall just now to my locker to get my books for Arts. I was gathering my books and I think I was looking all smiley and happy cause Jenny came right next to me and said, "How can you love Arts?"

"Oh, come on, you know how much I love artistic stuff." I said as I continued gathering my books.

"Yes, yes, yes. Come on, Juls, we're gonna be late." said Jenny, while tugging my arm.

Jenny has pretty much been my best friend for practically my whole life. Well, yes, my whole life. Our mothers are best friends from college, and they practically went through everything together. Yes, Jenny and her mum were there during my mum's labour. Jenny was still a baby then, just 5 months elder than me.

We've grown up together ever since then. People noted us as J&J. Juls and Jens. :)

We walked into class and took our usual seats, next to the windows. Miss Laura came in and the whole class came into a silence. She started off explaining what she wanted us to have done and I was listening and thinking of ideas of what to come up with.

I started working on my art piece when Jenny said, "Hey, look at 3 o'clock."

"Huh, what?" I said as I fumbled and looked around in my normal, blur state.

I looked to the direction she meant and there was this guy staring at me. The first thing that flashed into my mind was Hey, he looks cute.

"What?" said Jenny. I just realized I said that out loud. "Dude, that's my cousin! He just transferred here." said Jenny.

"Oh, whoops." I said stupidly and continued on with my artwork.

I stole a few glances of him and made a short assessment of him. Dark brown hair, the exact same colour of this dreamy eyes.

"What's his name?" I asked Jenny as she was whining profusely about having to do some stupid work.

"Oh, him? Damien. Damien Johnson." she muttered and continued with her whining.

Damien. Thats a really nice name. I continued with my work.

Oh, no, Miss Laura is coming. And she doesn't look happy.

Your truly, Julie. ♥

Chapter 1. ♥

Dear Diary,

Well, that was way too formal. But, oh well, who cares. Anyways, today, I won the yearly Essay Competition. Miss Laura said I have a very wide and flowing imagination that can't be stopped. Haha. As if. The whole school got a long lecture by her about imagination and creative writing, and when I walked down the hall, about 3 people passed by and said "Thanks a lot" or "Hey, its Miss Imagination! I see rainbows around her!"

Anyways, it wasn't that bad, since I got this pastel pink and purple sweet diary with a expensive looking pen along with it. It looks pretty expensive. Weeeeeell.

Okay, I better stop now, Mr Hobbes is giving me the evil eye.

Yours truly, Julie.
